That adds a fourth pillar, which shifts your element balance and strength count a little. Born between 11 pm and midnight? Saju schools disagree on your day. We follow the common Korean rule and count you as the next day when you give a time.

A full Korean saju reading uses four pillars (year, month, day and hour), eight characters in total. With your birth date alone we read three pillars, which is how many Koreans read saju when the hour is unknown. Add your birth time and we read all four. We don't include your 10-year luck cycles (대운), which traditional readers use for timing and which also depend on a male or female setting we don't ask for. Solar terms are converted to the time zone you were born in. Where a reading looks at two people, it compares your Day Masters and notes your day branches; a traditional compatibility reading (궁합) compares both whole charts.
