An honest answer

Is saju accurate?

Short answer

The calculation in saju can be exact (the calendar maths is precise), but saju has not been shown to predict personality or events scientifically, so it works best as a mirror for reflection rather than as a forecast.

Two kinds of 'accurate'

The first question is whether your chart is calculated correctly. That part can be exact: the day cycle, the solar terms that set the month and the Ipchun date that starts the year are all fixed astronomy and arithmetic. We compute them properly, in your browser. Many quick 'Korean birthday' charts online skip the solar terms and get people's month or year wrong.

The second question is whether the reading describes you. Here the honest answer is: sometimes, and not because of magic. Good descriptions are specific enough to recognise yourself in and broad enough to apply to many people. That is true of MBTI and horoscopes too.

How to use it well

Read your type and keep what is useful. If the Sword page makes you notice that you win arguments and lose evenings, that is worth something, whether or not a calendar caused it. Do not let any chart decide your health, money, safety or relationships.

What we deliberately leave out

We do not make predictions, promise that an ex comes back, or tell anyone what will happen. Our pages describe tendencies, in a voice that is meant to be funny. More on our method on About.

FAQ

Is saju scientifically proven?

No. Saju is a traditional framework. There is no scientific evidence that birth dates determine personality.

Why do saju readings feel so accurate?

Specific, well-written descriptions invite recognition. It is also easier to notice the parts that fit. Enjoy it, and keep your own judgment.

Is the calculation on this site correct?

We use real solar-term times and the traditional sixty-day cycle, and convert to your birth time zone. The method is described on our About page.
