Short answer
Your Chinese zodiac animal comes from your birth year and your Western star sign from your birth month, but your Korean saju birthday type comes from your birth day, which is why saju splits people far more finely than either.

The zodiac animal lives inside saju
The twelve animals are not a separate system from saju; they are the earthly branches. Your zodiac animal is the branch of your year pillar. Saju simply reads three more pillars as well, and treats the day as the one that describes you most.
Star signs are a different family
Western astrology uses the positions of the sun, moon and planets at your birth. Saju uses a calendar of stems and branches tied to the solar year. Both look at your birth moment, but they share no maths. You can be a Leo and a Rain without any contradiction.
Which one should you use?
Use whichever helps you think. If you like the zodiac, saju adds depth. If you like MBTI, saju adds an outside angle. Find your type with the free check and compare.
FAQ
Is my Korean zodiac different from my Chinese zodiac?
The animals are the same. The difference is when the year starts: saju uses Ipchun (around February 4), while many zodiac sites use the Lunar New Year.
Why does saju feel more accurate than my star sign?
Partly because it is more specific: your type depends on your birth day, not a month shared with millions. That does not make it a science, just a finer mirror.
Can I use both saju and astrology?
Yes. They are separate traditions and do not contradict each other.
